Responsible action depends on sound and critical thinking for example; you must know how to walk before you can run and before you can walk you must comprehend the basic necessities such as comprehending speech and ideas. These basic skills go way back before you were even able to stand your mother and father talked to you told you who they were. They said “I am your dad or this is mommy.” “Can you say that? C’mon say mom or dada?” They tried to make you understand who they were and by some miracle you magically said the words, or at least you thought everyone else heard grunts. But overtime these grunts morphed into sounds that sounded like letters and then finally morphed into words. But throughout this whole time just saying I’m your mom or dad, your brain is trying to comprehend what’s going on and then finally it becomes second nature. Anyways, back to the basic necessities, everything must go back to the necessities such as standing, even though you may not know this but brain is doing all the critical thinking such as how to put your foot and were to put your foot at and how much pressure you should put on it, all these sensations that you are feeling are going up into your nervous system like little tiny pricks running up your legs and feet feeling sensations all around you. If you were not of sound and critical thinking you would be pretty much crawling on the floor wondering “What the hell is going on?” Your mind would be wondering not doing the critical thinking it should be. During this whole time of being on the floor your pretty much wondering how you are going to walk, you never learned how to walk due to the fact that your parents never cared or acknowledge you in any way at all. But even though the nerve endings in your feet are feeling the same sensations they don’t understand how you can apply pressure on to them. But every time you try to take a step it doesn’t seem to work the same way. Many people don’t understand how the mind works and how many things must go into the basic things such as breathing, blinking, seeing, hearing, and smelling all of these things require some form of skill. For example, breathing requires moving your chest in and out filling your lungs or diaphragm with oxygen and how your body can just transfer oxygen to your heart and red blood cells. Another example that requires critical thinking would be just watching television your brain must process the factors that are going on, say if you’re watching iCarly your brain is trying to process what the conflict in the episode is. Over all your brain has to process many things and you must always use critical thinking in your everyday life. -Amanda Castillo
